Inverse Problems for Biomedical Characterization and Imaging
نویسنده
چکیده
Inverse methods form the basis of biomedical imaging applications, especially when they involve optical and near infrared radiation where multiple scattering tends to blur an image. This paper summarizes some of the recent literature on optical property reconstruction and on the use of fluorescence-induced signals for imaging. Inverse Problems in Imaging Systems and the General Bayesian Inversion Frawework
In this paper, first a great number of inverse problems which arise in instrumentation, in computer imaging systems and in computer vision are presented. Then a common general forward modeling for them is given and the corresponding inversion problem is presented. Then, after showing the inadequacy of the classical analytical and least square methods for these ill posed inverse problems, a Baye...
متن کاملThe Method of Maximum Mutual Information for Biomedical Electromagnetic Inverse Problems
This paper proposes a new method for biomedical electromagnetic inverse problems based on the technique of maximum mutual information. The new method is different from the conventional methods for it will not depend on the widely used regularization technique. The new method provides a general paradigm for developing algorithms dealing with various biomedical inverse problems that can be descri...
متن کاملApplications of gold nanoparticles for medical imaging
Background & Aim: Molecular imaging enables us to non-invasively visualize tissue microstructures and lesion characterization, allowing accurate diagnosis of diseases at early stages. A successful molecular imaging requires a nontoxic contrast agent with high sensitivity. Nowadays, a wide range of nanoparticles have been developed as contrast agents for medical imaging modalities. Here, we revi...
متن کاملBPConvNet for compressed sensing recovery in bioimaging
Iterative reconstruction methods have become the standard approach to solving inverse problems in imaging including denoising [1], [2], [3], deconvolution [4], and interpolation [5]. With the appearance of compressed sensing [6], our theoretical understanding of these approaches evolved further with remarkable outcomes [7], [8]. These advances have been particularly influential in the field of ...
متن کاملQuantitative spectroscopic photoacoustic imaging: a review.
Obtaining absolute chromophore concentrations from photoacoustic images obtained at multiple wavelengths is a nontrivial aspect of photoacoustic imaging but is essential for accurate functional and molecular imaging. This topic, known as quantitative photoacoustic imaging, is reviewed here. The inverse problems involved are described, their nature (nonlinear and ill-posed) is discussed, propose...
